ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Disinternment of Dan Stuart

In a somewhat messy process that began with the release of The Slummers "Love of the Amateur" last summer, quasi-legendary, occasionaly esteemed singer-songwriter, and walking contradiction Dan Stuart announces the release of his first solo recordings in 15 years. The primi will be a 4 song EP available in July, with a full length album to follow in the fall. A few select European live dates will be played this summer to compliment the EP.
Mr. Stuart is best known for being the leader of 80's groundbreakers Green on Red featuring Chuck Prophet, and half of the duo Danny & Dusty with Steve Wynn. His artistic efforts have been praised (and occasionally vilified) in the pages of the LA/NY/London Times as well as Rolling Stone, NME and countless others. His songs have been performed by artists as varied as Manic Street Preachers, Jon Dee Graham and Vivian Girls.
In a page from B.Traven's life, Mr. Stuart has been living under the name of Marlowe Billings in Southern Mexico. Rumors of an escape from a New York mental health facility have proven just that. What is certain, is that Mr. Stuart once again has something to say and plans on sharing it with whoever will listen. The forthcoming LP's working title? "Everybody's Happy".
