Album Notes
Electronica musician Dan Vine is riding the crest created by his album “Dreams” and a pair of hot singles stirring up the dance energy. Both “Tech By” and the titular single are melodic gems that highlight Vine’ full-bodied, elevating trance sound. His dance music is infused with just the right amount of progressive structure and buoyed up by melodicism that soaks into the brain and galvanizes the muscles.

“Dreams” (the song) and “Tech By” prove that Vine is among those at the epitome of the current indie electronica scene. No wasted audio space is evident – the sounds fill out the air perfectly. Robust melodies, streamlined dance pulse, seductive sonic textures – all the key elements for prime trance and club-friendly tunage are in place and in spot-on balance.
Vine began his adventures as a music maker playing the guitar. At 14, he decided the guitar would be his lifelong friend. He even went on to study at the Conservatory of Quebec, putting his skills to use performing with bands and teaching the guitar to others.
But it came to his attention that the music he played was a far cry from the music he tended to listen to – disco, trance and other electronica. “Dance music was a big part of my life!” exclaims Vine.
He found himself aspiring to write that kind of music himself – powerful synth melodies, muscular bass and hooky percussive rhythms became his focus. In 2005, Vine, a keyboard, an electric guitar and a pair of computers commenced a journey into electronica that is beginning to culminate now with the inroads into the industry being made by his “Dreams” album.
And the guitar still factors into his music. With the right manipulation, Vine makes his guitar sound like a synth, thus blending his beloved instrument seamlessly into the electronica for which he harbors such a passion.
In December of 2007, the first song “Listen to This” on his CD was tapped for a double-disc compilation in London by Sonic Vogue Records. (Vine is the only Canadian on the compilation) He is currently working on some remixes which will be posted in the near future on his YouTUBE official page www.youtube.com/danvineofficial .

Trance at his best
I'm a huge fan of electronic music. The concerts are like none other. I like Dan Vine's work because he sounds like one of my favorite DJ's - DJ Tiesto. The music puts you in a state of trance with melodic loops and pouncing bases that are sure to accelerate your heart beat. Enjoy!

**Editor's Pick**
Canada is cold. Its beats are not. Not if Dan Vine is any indication; the Quebec boardsmith brings a history of blues-rock and electric guitars to bear on Van Dykian electronica. Vine's tracks tuck into fierce synths and hard pulses, but keep track of their soul.

Holidays in Ibiza
Whilst not being a trance / techno /club expert, I can recognize something well constructed and well produced and this has all those hallmarks. The real power house track on the album for me would have to be "Tech By", with it's ambient and spacey feel and is a blast to listen to on headphones.

Good Work !
I really enjoyed listening to it. Especially the song "Tech By". I like the way you keep coming back with the melody, and I feel it makes it more memorable. You obviously have a good understanding of the genre. Your tracks move really well, and overall, it's great. Production wise, tracks sound great, and very accomplished. I could see this packing a floor in South Beach! Nice job!

Trance to shake your pants!
This is an awesome CD. It was well mixed and well done with nnice harmonies and good stuff. well done.

I very much enjoyed this CD.. I still can not believe that I picked it up for only 5 dollars.. Wow.. Not only was the CD a mind-blowing experience but the artist made it a little personal by sending me a letter of thanks and an autographed cover.. . .
I love being called Canadian when we have artist from our country producing such marvelous albums!
Keep them coming!

Innovative yet traditional trance
Dan Vine recognizes listeners are drawn to the music because of its familiar repetition, yet he understands the need for innovation and plain old good musical melodies. “Tech By” is powered by rocking synths, hand claps, and buzzing keys, all these layers of sound through the last half of the tune before he kicks it home the last minute – makes me wish I could dance. Bonus track “Melt the Metal” rocks throughout, a fave that even my metal-loving teenager likes. “In the Dome” builds to zipper synths and soaring sounds. However, a Moby-like female vocal repeat in “What You Want” doesn’t really work, about the only miscue. There’s even a “Shaft”-like TV show theme music groove in “70s in da House” to go with more traditional trance like the urgent “Universe” and other solid tunes.
