Album Notes
The Darelicks formed in January 2003 in Los Angeles, California. The four of us have been friends for years. We've played together in one combination or another for as long as we can remember. Smiley and Joe are brothers. Randy and I might as well be, as we've known each other forever. We began writing "Mental Issues" in late January. By June we were mixing and mastering the CD. This was our first try at recording our own album. It was just the four of us involved. When we all agreed that the cake was baked-we sealed the lid and called it a done deal. We sent out the first copies in October to as many college stations as we could. Over 100 stations have added Mental Issues to their play list.

The Darelicks line up...

Smiley Baxter on bass, vocals and guitar. 6' tall, 155 lbs. Brown hair, brown eyes. (818) less punk more drunk, stage detractor, bassist.

Randy Gordon on drums and vocals. 5'9", 150 lbs. Blonde hair, green eyes. Ultra talented (818) super artist.

Joe Downure from the (559) to the (818). 5'9", 145 lbs. Brown hair, brown eyes. Creative geek / rock star, nicknamed 4:00 Joe, on guitar and vocals.

Scott Freeson weighting in at 155 lbs.5'10 blonde hair. blue eyed mental patient #021042 from deep in the (805) producer brain child on vocals and guitar.

Hot, Inspiring and a Sure Fire Winner!
Like many other stations, the title track of Mental Issues simply draws the listener in to a rolicking fun experience. However, this is merely the tip of the ice berg because this entire CD is worth the purchase price for the sheer enjoyment factor imparted. If nothing else, The Darelicks clearly demonstrate why more music fans should tune in to the indie bands who really make a difference by creating uniquely stylized music. Get this CD, you will NOT be disappointed.
