Dark Sarah is a new musical project of Finnish metal band Amberian Dawn´s former vocalist Heidi Parviainen.
During the years with Amberian Dawn, Heidi and the band released four albums through Spinefarm Records/Universal and Suomen musiikki and made four music videos, did three European tours (two with Epica, one with Tristania) and several shows ( Sweden Rock, MFVF, supporting Kamelot in UK) around Europe and in Finland. After parting ways with Amberian Dawn late 2012, she started to build up her own solo career. The musical style of Dark Sarah combines elements of metal music, film music and musical theater.
The song Save me is written by Emy Frost and lyrics by Heidi Parviainen. The arrangements, digital orchestrations, recording, producing and mixing is done by Mikko.P. Mustonen at Pathos Music Finland.
The music video "Save me" was published in Youtube in March the 8th 2013.
The project name Dark Sarah comes from a story which the debut album " Behind the black veil" follows.
The story of Dark Sarah is written by Heidi Parviainen and it starts from a woman who has gone through some rough time:
"I used to look at the world with blue eyes, I used to love with an open heart but I was naive, the world needed to show it to me. I got angry for my weakness and angry with the world. In the darkest swirls of my mind I got stronger and meaner and started to change. I worked with my fear and I became DARK SARAH. I´m not bitter I´m just bitter sweet."
- Dark Sarah-
.....She almost breaks down, but something wakes up inside of her and she becomes an another person, her meaner half, Dark Sarah. The eye of Horus symbol in the logo, and her eye when she transforms into her meaner self, means protection; she protects her good self by becoming bad.
The album called ´Behind The Black veil´ is now being made and will include guests like Kasperi Heikkinen (U.D.O, Merging Flare), Jukka Koskinen (Winter Sun) . There will also be a special duet with soprano Manuela Kraller ( Xandria), and Inga Scharf (Van Canto) in a song composed by Stefan Schmidt ( Van Canto, Heavatar).
