ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It took three years to arrange, record and master this Christmas CD. I've been performing and touring quit a bit in the last three years.

On this CD I used the Roland GR33 Guitar Synthesizer, BC Rich Warlock electric and bass guitars, 1st knight electric guitar made by Camelot guitars, Korg AX1500G guitar processor, Boss ME50 guitar processor, Vox Tone Lab ST guitar processor and the Boss loop station pedal and Cordoba Classical Flamenco guitar.

If you like Trans-Siberian Orchestra then you'll love this Christmas CD.

This album's title only begins to describe its awesomeness. Sure, there's a lot of festive shreddery during the hour-plus running time of this 12-track holiday metal collection, but underneath all that, it's Byron's mastery of these classic pieces that really shines through. His attention to detail during the gentle, acoustic passages to "The First Noel" is both technically impressive and filled with feeling, and it makes for a nice preface to the blistering version of "Little Drummer Boy" that follows it. This quiet/loud juxtaposition works well later in the record, too, when a carefully plucked take on "What Child is This?" leads into a screeching-and-steady "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing." Elsewhere, there's a loosely rugged version of "A Few of My Favorite Things," and the closer, the utterly mammoth "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," scorches into a huge climax that finishes the album up in a very fitting way. Good Christmas metal is tough to come by, which makes this record even more vital for folks looking for something heavy for the holidays.
