Dave Lauber grew up in a small town in southern New Jersey. He was one of eight children, some of which were half-sisters. He developed an interest in music early in life and began playing the drums at the early age of 5. With a family of this size money was tight, but his supportive parents found a way to not only get him a used set of drums, but to also drive him to different events and parties where he was able to quickly hone his skills. Picking up the guitar at age 13 and bass shortly afterwards, his interest in all types of music increased with time. He began to find ways to overdub his own musical compositions using cassette players, and also began playing professionally by the age of 16.
With a keen ear and the ability to write for many instruments, songwriting was inevitable. Although his favorite genre was classic rock, he wrote music in other genres, as well. During his high school years he played the snare drum in the marching band, as well as the full kit in the jazz band, giving him even more versatility and experience. At the age of 23, Dave moved from New Jersey to Florida, where he would join a few different bands. He played drums for local working acts such as Sanzpur, Uncle Flo, and The Wunderdogs (to name a few), and also played guitar in an original band by the name of Babbling Genius, which spawned from another songwriting duo by the name of Thinqsyrius (pronounced Think Serious). While co-writing with CJ Denecia of Thinqsyrius, Dave wrote a song by the name of "Naughty Reputation" which placed in the top 10% of 4th annual Billboard Song Contest.
Dave continues his passion for music to this day as drummer for local Orlando, FL area band "Don't Scare The Dog", which has been rocking under the same name for over 18 years. He also continues to write and record his music in his successful recording studio (Lauberland Studios, Deltona, FL) and has a fantastic acoustic duo by the name of Empty Pockets (with Joe Palumbo). In January of 2012, Dave started a social network similar to Facebook, but oriented toward bands, musicians, venues and other industry pros. The website is titled EZ Band Page (http://ezbandpage.com) and is just getting started. He continues to run the recording studio full time and is constantly involved with music-related projects and events.
Music is his first passion, and his ability to take an audio or video project of any type from beginning to end by himself with little-to-no outside assistance makes him on of the most versatile and "in demand" artists in the area. He can play professionally on drums, bass and guitar, and can assist others with song arrangements, promotion, and many other important aspects of the music business due to his vast experiences and knowledge.
