ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Living in the mountains near Portland, Oregon has given David F Currey the quality time needed to write songs of reflection about his life as a singer/songwriter. All of the original songs on this album were written during the month of July, 2012 as he spent time exploring the trails and rivers of the Mt. Hood National Forest. Many of the songs were written about David's experiences in life and love, ranging from digging ditches and hauling hay to herding cattle. David explains, "When I'm riding through the wheat fields I feel the land beneath my horse and I sometimes feel like I'm on the ocean, the wheat looks almost like waves. And, when I walk through the forest and hear the bluejays I get some of my ideas for new songs." Like a mustang running free, David performs with the energy and drive of a maverick on the plains.

During the recording of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison" David didn't know the recorder was still rolling. In that track you can especially hear his unbridled passion for vintage Country/Blues/Swing!
