Hallowmonium (WITH BACKUP)

by David Hatfield

PSST! (SOUNDS LIKE ALICE IN WONDERLAND AND THE BROTHERS GRIMM TRYING TO ESCAPE HELL FOR PURGATORY.) HALLOWMONIUM (WITH BACKUP) IS A MELTED FUSION OF HIGHLY DYSFUNCTIONAL HARMONY THAT WALKS A TIGHT ROPE BETWEEN THE SURREAL AND THE INSANE.
Genre: Rock: Goth

Well you've Heard My Original 'David Hatfield's Hallowmonium... 6 Original Halloween Songs on Harmonium [(back in 2004) -without back up-.]

There's a certain rawness that creates a distinctive mood I like to think. I've always wanted to do more with it though.

So NOW HERE'S--- HALLOWMONIUM(WITH BACK-UP)---

A whole new mood is set with these new recordings. I added guitar, bass, and harmonium of course. I also did quite a bit with weird percussion on some songs and many of them were recorded by candle light, often with incense which you'll especially notice in 'The Mortal and the Dead', 'Frankenstein' and 'Friends in the Graveyard'. I tried to better incorporate my 'Folknick' element which is mostly singing with just a bit of talking. At least five of the songs have this element. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I don't doubt you'll enjoy most of these, because they're pretty unique, they've got hooks, they're poetic, dark yet accessable and I like to think the gothic element is still strong on many or most. They'll make a great addition to your IPOD especially for Halloween, but aren't half bad for easy listening you may notice. Well minus one or two anyway. Enjoy!

Demented Fairy Tales
A lot of potential here. It would seem this would be good for music in Halloween Movies, or gothic (Brothers Grimm)type movies.

Vicotria

Cool Stuff.
Interesting feel. There's a certain groove going on here that I like. It reminds me, strangely, of some of Syd Barrett's music. There seems to be a definate influence. The percussion is different than most music. I like that. =-)

Good Work Here
I'm enjoying your music. I love American music. It's kind of weird, but easy to listen also. Good Work.

Will

Cool
So---that's--- what you were trying to say. Love it. It's so much better with back up, it's like night and day. Movies should use these. Good work.

Hector Romero

'Frankenstein'
I Love 'Frankenstein'. The mood is cool. How stoned were you when you did that one? Just Kidding. It has it's own fabric of sound. Good work.

Shannon

Cool!
Cool Stuff. I'm an art major and I know art when I see it or in this case I hear it. I can tell you're an artist and I love the texture of your music. I listen to it in the bathtub in the dark after a long crappy day at work. strangely it helps me relax. I don't know exactly why, but it does. Thank you for this. :.b

#5
Wooh! #5 really creeps me out. It's like zombies are singing it. Spooky.

whooo--haahhh-haaahhh
I agree. Somewhere in demencia is really dark and creepy. I mean, like if I were sleeping and woke up to it, I'd be scared shitless. Overall interesting feel. It's really distinctive. I mean, you want to compare these songs to something, probably because they're catchy, but they're really stylistic and distinctive. It's almost like a new genre. Cool music here.
