ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As a university trained classical pianist, David James brings a unique technicality to piano pop music. Striving to keep tunes both radio friendly and musically challenging, his group’s newest album “Street Performer” targets a wide variety of listeners by incorporating memorable melodies and jazz influenced harmony. The final track “Alcohol.edu” earned him the 2007 John Lennon Scholarship for Songwriters from The BMI Foundation, NY.

World in Cherry Blossoms
David James Band is a sweet pop gem. Recorded in Denver, the songs float on sweet melodies inspired from the boy-band era. "Urban Reality Show" boasts James' gorgeous piano work, "Here I am tired, but I'm lying awake; Just follow your heart, girl." "Time Capsule in Tokyo" highlights David's lovely vocals, urgent and passionate, "Looking down, I miss your quiet life, the world in cherry blossoms simplified." The rat-a-tat percussion on the tongue-in-cheek "If I Were Taller" puts a smile on my face. "Midnight Hide & Seek" melds the boy-band sensibility with a soul flavor to come up with a strong pop nugget. "Alcohol.edu" starts with a party sequence, "Everyone's worried and no one is laughing but you." "Pobody's Nerfect" transposes the first letters of the title on what is a driving pop track, "As soon as I break the law with good intentions..." The title track has James' lovely piano & Wes Barton's punchy drums on a breezy tune. David James Band is a very sweet pop nugget, well worth checking out. Enjoy!
