ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
David Keith Jones is a versatile tenor based in England, popular on You Tube and adding to his albums. He first performed with junior choirs in Wales. David attended Lewis School Pengam with Neil Kinnock, former leader of the UK Labour Party. At school David won competitions in French and German, wrote review sketches and played in a jazz group. He also represented the school at athletics and played some Rugby Football.
David began voice tuition at University and sang in student productions. After graduating he studied with Vera Mallett and was coached by Gerald Davies, once principal tenor at Sadlers Wells. David subsequently sang Don Jose and Elgar’s Gerontius, with Ian Caddy as the Priest. David founded Opera Cameo in St Albans and sang roles including Rodolfo, Alfredo and Turiddu. He also worked at the Harlow Playhouse with Norman Meadmore, former senior producer with D’Oyly Carte. Moving to Milton Keynes in 1985 as a Software Engineer, David then sang leads with opera and oratorio companies and took roles including Aykbourn’s ‘Gosforth’ with the Open University Theatre Group.
David then began recording and his ‘VoceVersatile’ You Tube channel passed a million views in 2011. In 2010 he had begun preparing albums covering a range from British Songs, Arie Antiche, Opera and Lieder, to Hits and Standards. He manages the process alone, from accompaniment and recording to distribution and publicity.
David taught for the Open University and at the University Centre, Milton Keynes. His wife Jean Tatton Jones is a successful painter and prize-winning poet.
