ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Based on the latest research from the field of Positive Psychology, the songs on this album were specifically written to help children develop the important skills of creativity, ingenuity, investigation, problem-solving, mental-flexibility, and imagination.

“This collection of songs is designed to help young children realize that the mind is both a toy and a tool. We can have fun with our imagination from creating worlds that are wacky and wonderful. And we can use our imagination to craft creative solutions to complex problems. Our greatest satisfaction comes when we are able to combine the two worlds into one,” shares Tom Lottman, Research Director of Growing Sound. Lottman continues, “This CD is specifically designed to help children build multiple associations to different events, apply original associations to solving problems, improve working memory, and increase mental flexibility.”

The cd’s music was written and recorded by Growing Sound’s Creative Director, David Kisor, an award-winning singer, songwriter, composer and teacher. “Music is a natural vehicle for promoting imagination and creativity in young children. The combination of lyrics and music in self-talk, experiential and story songs provide unique strategies for building the creative mind. For children and the adults who love them, we trust that these songs will be a source of fun, free thinking and foresight,” shares Creative Director, David Kisor.

Located in Covington, Kentucky, Growing Sound develops music and other products that translate key findings from recent child development research into practical and entertaining products for teachers, parents, and children. Founded in 2007 as a new venture of Children, Inc., our products stimulate social and emotional development in a way that is fun for young children. While many products focus on managing children’s problem behaviors, Growing Sound is a proactive, strength-based approach to helping children discover the goodness in their lives and in themselves.
