ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since 1994, David's music has inspired thousands to sing with spirit, learn with passion and pray with kavanah (intention.) Along with his bands Rock Tov and Shirav David has become known as the “Rock n’Roll Rabbi” and has produced six albums of contemporary Jewish music, which are sold by major distributors of Jewish music across the country. His music is a mix of joyful, upbeat tunes and moving liturgical compositions. David’s music is used around the country in religious schools, camps, synagogues and homes. In addition to his Jewish music, in 2004, David produced a cd single entitled, So We Ride in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Brain Tumor Society’s Ride for Research.

With talented musician and singer/songwriter, Lisa Yves, David has created a new musical and spiritual endeavor entitled, Shabbat Unplugged. By borrowing powerful tunes and niggunim from other Jewish musicians in addition to writing many new tunes himself, David has created a creative and contemporary, yet traditionally-minded Shabbat evening musical experience.

Here's what people are saying about David...

“David, I just wanted to thank you, even though you don’t know what you did. Given all that has gone on these past weeks, and the emotional heaviness of it, I have once again taken out your CD to listen to. Your voice, your music, and your words are strengthening. Thank you.” (Ora Horn Prouser, Executive Vice-President and Academic Dean, Academy for Jewish Religion, NY)

"(His) music brings Jewish tradition to life through songs filled with energy and spirit. Adults and children alike are thrilled by the upbeat and charismatic tunes and their spirits are touched by songs filled with prayer." (Robyn Faintich, Director of Youth Programs for the Bureau of Jewish Education in Orange County, CA and freelance writer for the St. Louis Jewish Light)

"David's original, contemporary Jewish music fuses exquisite musicianship, spiritual energy, and his love of Judaism to create a product people can't help but sing along with." (Moment Magazine)
