Album Notes
I mostly create a song around the sound I'm creating from my guitar and in most cases my intention is to leave a message or meaning from that song. I'm a self (ever learning) taught acoustic guitar player and have cut this album live within an hour and a half - AND certainly not the case where I just put these songs together in a frenzy! Its important for me to play my music the way you would hear it live unlike a fabricated sound that " magically disappear" when certain artist's performs live!
"Runaway" track 10 was cut some wheres else but the other 9 tracks were cut at Fader Mountain studio in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. I have been sitting on some of these songs for many years. I use my vocal range to the best of its ability to lift that song off where I believe the sound should resonate with the viewer e.g. from raspy/hoarse "Streets Have Gone Wild" to the mellow sigh of "Runaway".
When I was young I was embedded in a lot of styles / genres and listened to many artists/bands. Even though some were successful and some struggled I'll always recall how some songs helped me with my own struggles during trying times ! I knew how important it was for others as well and such influence to get some through the day... Music is a powerful medium for many people and deep within me I would never release a song if I did'nt think it had a message or a certain quality of self satisfaction for me and the listener.
I believe there is no time line on any song and not all songs will resonate with certain listeners. "Swamp Spruce Unplugged on Fader Mountain" is a mixed bag where some songs were written for certain artists. "Chains of Pain" a song about being stigmatized was written for Tracy Chapman vocals and "Getch' Ya There" was written for Alison Krauss and the list goes on! ... but getting songs to these people is near impossible for that to happen in this industry unless you have connections or previous success so all you can do is try. Here's a link to some original homemade demo's and some Bob Dylan covers you can check out @

you've got what it takes ... all is you need is "the break!"
Your music recorded is as genuine as it is live. Heard you a couple times in Van-city. You got great material, strummming, and voice. Hope you make it.
(It is "simply amazing" how little time you used/had to record it)

This is different
Its been awhile since I heard some grass roots from back home. Theres some different material which I like and theres some quality sound but your strength is in your voice . Original and unique with some exellent lyrics and I hope these people get there songs and I hope you do well with your poker song as it rocks. Will be waiting for your other album. Good Luck!
