4 blonde siblings from Gainesville, FL.
As Dear and Glorious Physician, the Westfalls have honed a sound caught between two eras: think art-rock 70’s (ala Talking Heads) and mid-90’s college rock (ala Pixies).
Brothers Charles and Andrew began collaborating seriously in the summer of 2002 and after several permutations, additions and subtractions, the band took its ultimate shape in the early 2005 with the addition of sisters Jillian and Robin.
Relentlessly covering the southeastern US, Dear and Glorious Physician have quickly become a regional favorite within the independent music circuit.
Storming onto the stage or out of your speakers, the experience of Dear and Glorious Physician is to encounter a violent young art form. It's all Kunst, all cream, and all kick.
"With assaulting guitars and a primal garage-rock sound, this Gainesville, FL quartet isn’t your typical family band. The four Westfall siblings marry Pixies distortion and Talking Heads pop experimentation, creating a rare breed of emotional and listenable art rock. This explosive nine-song debut promises a future as sunny as the band’s home state" - Magnet
"A band that doesn’t just fuck around, Dear and Glorious Physician is quirky and tenacious, bringing the rock ‘n’ roll like it’s meant to." – Smother.net
"Charles Westfall sounds as if he has learned prophecy and preaching under the tutelage of Black Francis (The Pixies). And that’s a good thing; the mantle must be passed." – Musicspectrum.org
