Album Notes
Rapping in French, English, and Spanish, DJ Decryption has created a new niche in the hip-hop scene. He laces a combination of orchestral, Irish, and choral beats with philosophical musings ("Wherever I go I love what they speak / Life is sweet because you find what you seek / So 'cherchez la joie' [look for the joy] in all life's poses / Me? I'm just glad that thorns have roses" -Trilingual MC), political commentary (" 'Begone!' says a Bush to a neighboring vine / When it happens to be growing by a river called the Rhine / In a fine little country where they like to drink wine / Agree with the 'shrub' or it's boycott time" -Trilingual MC), and straight up hot lines ("Yo it's Decrypt; you came to see me shine / Computer nerds love me more than a T3 line" and "I'm always innovative; never work from ritual / But you steal your rhymes from pygimes... that's *aboriginal*" -Sounds Like A Plan). With guest artists ranging from the Middle-Eastern sitar-like "oud" playing of Laith Keilany to Jodie Manross, lead singer of the Jodie Manross Band, "Tales From Decrypt" has a wide range of styles and sounds, but intelligent and meaningful lyrics fill every track no matter if it's sung or rapped.

DJ Decryption hails from Hickory (tha HKY), North Carolina, but this hasn't stopped him from shredding mics at International Key Club Conventions, in bars in Ireland, and at Battle of the Band competitions in Winston-Salem and Hickory. He has also won freestyling competitions at local step exhibitions and block parties, and his concerts with his previous band "Agents of the Swarm" were renowned for their musical frenzy of 12 musicians, singers, rappers, and break dancers on stage at once. From the hot Irish fiddling of LepreKhan to the comic inputs of DJ Dradel, every moment was a ridiculously good time for both the performers and the audience. Current guest stars on the CD include the singing talents of Sarah Decker and Laura Sexton, the seductive lines of Cloud 9, a didgeridoo courtesy of Decrypt, and a blazing chorus by Killa C (Cedric C.) from the Lethal Minds crew in Hickory. Look out for more DJ Decryption in the future... but in the meantime go ahead and purchase a CD! If you want more, email DJ Decryption at to find out about purchasing previous Agents of the Swarm CDs.

"The more I listen to your CD, the more I find musically and lyrically. I listened to it for the 17th time the other day, and I found at least 4 new things I hadn't heard before. It's so deep, yet so catchy. Great work!" -Brett Covington, music critic and novelist from Brussels, Belgium.

Balki Bartakamous

I gotta say I was skeptical at first but this kid can spit strait FIIIIIIRE. Im not a gangsta but yo mama is is pure genius "the only red i spill is in the form of condiments the only illegal substance that I possess is common sense" shows a rapper that is humble and cares more about substance then an image. Rock on DJ Decryption, Rock on!!!!!

Fresh and Complete
One of the freshest styles out there. A complete and wide-ranging collection of songs, both musically and in content.

In his review, Maxwell Norman's use of the phrase "The artist isn't very well comfortable with..." demonstrates his amazing mastery of English grammar. He would be wise to learn how to properly write before he attempts to review a CD with lyrics that are about 50 IQ points above his head.

awesome cd--diverse, creative and inspiring!
Blake's CD is amazing! It intertwines so many different genres of music and creates an exciting and diverse collection of songs! I love that there's everything from Middle Eastern oud to traditional Irish music with Blake's innovative rap style--intelligent and creative! It's in high rotation in my CD player!

Decrypt imparts philosophy, with lyrics so sharp, its like brand new cutlery
Stright up, off tha chain. Decrpyt advances interesting social commentary through verse and word play. Fun to listen to and interesting to reflect upon, especially when he drops it in mulitple languages. If I only had $12, I would use it all on this CD and gladly starve to death. True story.

Maxwell Norman obviously has no clue what is going on. Dj Decrypts cd is brilliantly put together. He blends beats, languages, and styles you would never associate with typical rap artists. Its nice to hear a rapper who doesnt have to use profanity and immoral topics to make a decent song. His casual references may go over your head, but when they do, get a dictionary or ask a friend. This is by far the smartest cd I've ever listened to.

Stunning. Simply brilliant. Other rappers may have a certain "thug" appeal, but their lyrics are terribly wanting of any coherence, all save "#&@% the police", etc. Decrypt's CD interweaves rap and erudition. I've never heard anything so ambitious as the last track of the CD, a history book in a track. If you are looking for incredible rhymes, in three languages, as well as tremendously thougthful lyrics - look no further than Tales From Decrypt.

Excellent, the only word which express what i think of this CD
I like this CD a lot. What it talks about is very interessant. I just like it. Good luck dear DJ DECRYPTION.
