Delirious Tremor is a jazz trio who stay away from cliched rhythm and arrangements.
This is not to say that the music on this CD is self-serving,or made up in a semi-free way. It is both accessable AND original. A rare combination to be sure but, this music manages to pull it off.
Kat dickinson,of MUSIC MONTHLY,called their music,"beautiful melancholy",and compared it to " a Renoir".
Mike Joyce,of The WASHINGTON POST,wrote that the group has to "chops to spare, with compositions that are diverse and keep listeners guessing..."
This is music as ART. (isn't that what it is supposed to be?)This is modern jazz at its best. It is not simply a melody followed by blowing and a repeat of the head. It is music where composition and development of melodic themes is king and where texture is a close second.
The improvised solos are both compelling and essential to each song and the interplay between these three musicians is worth noting.
Delirious tremor has been together for nearly ten years. In that time they have recorded and released four Cd's of original material, toured and played countless gigs.
"It is their composition and impeccable playing that set them apart from the pack...." MJ Brady,Proggnosis
