ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"The sound of the universe calling...Crosses all the boundaries between dark and light... Play it and be spellbound." - CD Services

"A profound, sonic vista of love and caring....reaches to the foundations of the human spirit...." - Chaiworks

"Faces of the Christ captures the experience -- the wonder, the struggle, and the ecstacy -- of that very plain where spirit inhabits flesh and flesh grasps for eternity. Rich emotion pulls. Angel voices lure. Demby's music is the fisherman's net of this tantalizing predicament, and love is the glue that keeps one present. Listen deeply and don the face of Christ on your own being."- Carol Wright - Music reviewer

Originally composed for the video of the same name, the score is a 58 minute uninterrupted stream of serene, symphonic sacred music inspired by the vibration of the Christ energy. Intimate, contemplative, ambient, moving. Good for meditation or atmospheric uplift.

"Faces" is one near hour-long track of cosmic/space music distilled to its purest essence. It's the sort of music that crosses all the boundaries between dark and light without losing any listeners at either extreme end of the space music spectrum. Realised purely on synths and electronics, this is the sound of the universe calling as you are transfixed by something you don't understand and yet are in absolute awe if hearing. It needs no more than for you to buy it, play it and be spellbound, for that is surely what will happen." - Andy Garibaldi - CD Services

Listener Response:

"...Beautiful, grand worlds, visionary settings, heart-felt stirrings... galactic in scope.... the oasis we've been eagerly anticipating during our trek through the proverbial desert..... like meeting an old friend for the first time, who is there to guide you into this new, shimmering dimension." - Chai Works

"Constance, your music is now a "constant" in my life. I am continally amazed at the far reaches of where you go with it, how wide it becomes, it's brilliant depths and tender beauty. My heart is always in good hands when I'm listening to your creations. And if I've lost touch, it brings me back easily with the most sweetest compassion or even the most outright driving voice that says, 'What, you don't remember who you are??? allow me' And I fall back on my Self once again. Your work has been a strong force in my life!" - Shahastra

BIO
An internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated, award winning performing and recording artist, Constance Demby has been hailed as the 21st century’s Mozart / Bach / Beethoven, a tall order for anyone to be associated with, but in Constance’s case one founded on the most extraordinary musical and creative talent that is testimony to her prolific output and the profound healing both listeners and participants experience, alongside critical acclaim that has followed her every step of progress in a career spanning decades.

As a recording artist and pioneer in her field, Constance is an innovator of sound creations; sounds you'd swear you never heard before. Yet, somewhere in some dim memory, there is a faint memory echo - rich and compelling - calling up archetypal experiences which access the deeper, more profound levels of the mind-body-spirit. As one experiences the depths of the transmission, a dimensional shift occurs, allowing listeners to open, release and merge into states of expanded consciousness.

Her originally designed Sonic Steel Space Bass, a ten foot sheet of steel that produces deep, primoridal, resonant sounds, has been recorded by Lucas Skywalker Studios for use in their filmscores, and also filmed by Discovery Channel at Gaudi's Parc Guell for inclusion in a special entitled "The Power of Music."

A classically trained artist performing since the age of 12, Demby's music has been compared by critics to Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Brahms, Palestrina, Rachmaninoff, Wagner, Puccini, Debussy, Ravel, Copland, Mahler, and Vivaldi. Her focus has included sculpture & painting, with one-woman shows in Greenwhich Village. Music, myth, art, and spirit merged in her SPACE MASS, a spectacular multi-media production combining painting, film, massive environmental sculptures, music, dance and ritual.

Demby is composer, performer, multi-instrumentalist, painter, sculptor, instrument designer, multi-media producer, and healer for our times. Dedicated to exploring the healing power of sound and it's ability to alter consciousness, Constance has received countless letters from those who, because of her music, experienced a major healing, a life shift, or even decided not to commit suicide. Healers and therapists worldwide use the albums in sessions to deepen and facilitate their work.
