Album Notes
"Fun, engaging, youthful, timeless, marvelously touching... Dene Marie reveals a soul filled with beauty and longing. I really enjoyed the songwriting and solid, in-the-pocket performances. The band kicks ass and obviously enjoys itself. I'd love to see this band rock out live. They have a feel and energy that is uplifting and completely convincing. This is real rock and roll!"
Roger Fisher - founding guitarist of rock group HEART

With her second CD, Dene Marie is showing us her full colors. Her music is still tender, sensitive and purely volcanic, but there's a mature honesty to it now. This songstress has created her own brand of straight-up power pop/rock that is warm, plaintive, aggressive, humorous and loving all together. We are treated to a plethora of styles - Elvis Costello, Crowded House, The Cars, The Runaways, Gladys Knight and the Pips to name a few - in this new set of 12 songs. Never boring, Dene Marie is not one to disappoint.

Originally from Seattle, award winning singer/songwriter/musician Dene Marie Jomei has had a life-long love for music. From classical piano lessons at the age of three to majoring in music in college, Dene Marie has traveled a winding road of self-discovery in music. After working as a creatively unsatisfied recording engineer, she finally made her move to the other side of the glass and began writing and singing her own material.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Dene Marie has built a large and loyal following with her unique brand of power pop/rock. This talented ASCAP writer and publisher is receiving radio airplay on stations across and even outside the country, licensed her music for British television, and is a popular artist on high-traffic internet music sites where her music has reached Number 1 on several charts. She's also been featured in the BUZZ section of Los Angeles Magazine.

A stronger, more confident Dene' Marie emerges more vocally & emotionally mature
Dene' Marie offers "6 Down 6 Up" without reservations. This latest effort showcases the artist's talent range from the romantic & spiritual emulation of "Emeralds & Angels" through the teasing sensuality of "Just One Kiss" to the raw sexuality of "I Want You". I was entertained and captivated throughout, but found my favorite in "Why"...if you hear it, you won't have to ask.

Its rare to find a CD that you can play at anytime and find a song that fits the moment. This CD does just that. Great vocals and moving lyrics make this a new favorite in my collection

Dene Marie, New CD, New Vibe, Great Songs!
This is the second CD I've heard from Dene Marie entitled 6Down 6Up and I have to say it's awesome and very well planned out! The CD is a different appraoch from her debut CD and it's a little more faster pace than the debut CD however I will say that this CD is great if not better than the first.
The first track entitled Are You Happy Now has a really cool catchy vibe and the lyrics are well thought out. The track I like the best is track 10 entitled Emeralds and Angels which is very mellow and laid back. Emeralds and Angels is the kind of song you can put in your car and just cruise down the road and relax.
This is a CD that once you get it you will listen to it for a good while. 6Down 6Up isn't a CD that you could easily get tired of listening to as other CDs that are out there on the market now being supported by major record labels.
Check out this CD because if you don't than you're missing out on a really good CD from a really good artist!

Really inspiring, the ballads are my favourite, so excited for Dene Marie
Such emotive lyrics and melodies. The song that always brings a tear to my eyes is: Out of Time. I love it, even though it stirs up so many different emotions. To be honest, I think I could relate to most of the tracks on the album.

Can't wait for Dene Marie to perform live over here in London, (England). Hope that I won't have to wait too long!
