Album Notes
Four fully paid up members of the Tavern loon parade up Mere St, waving red tickets and passing the reflections and fresh paint that have taken up residence at the shop where Revelution Records once lived. Further up the hill on St Nicholas history is changing at the corn merchants hall. Howie the sound waits with a mailmans head and a handful of mike leads reminiscing with the bearded singer who's finally finding the direction home. "where on this street of no return will I find a copy of 'People Get Ready' by Curtis Mayfield now" he muses, his head giving another shake of disbelief. It's a fresh time with new language and grooves, only one place to hide for the loyal three hundred, waitng like Spartans to defend their position against attack on all sides from the beat machine. "Get me passed these sit down chairs and show me a bar" cries aka harp in his smoothest Canadian accent. "Over here, this is the place" shouts Ruthie. She pulls the pump, band counts four and kick in.
