Double Invention

by Laszlo Des - Ferenc Snetberger

The ideal space for improvisation it to be found in the live context of concerts. The music of Laszlo Des and Ferenc Snetberger is triggered by a joint improvisation which could never really be conveyed in its whole intensity in the sterile circumstances.

Album Notes
Tension, play and lyrical beauty are all in an all in an intimate and personal tune. The sequences, the accents and colors of course, may vary –even within one composition – but one thing is always constant: the high poetic standard of content and form. Were a volume of poetry to cause this effect, there would be nothing unusual about it. With a jazz production it is a different story. Jazz is a genre which we usually relate to abstraction, dynamics, sensuality and especially instrumental improvisation rather than poetry. This is what Laszlo Des and Ferenc Snetberger have sought to archive.
The duo of Laszlo Des and Ferenc Snetberger was established more than ten years ago. Since then both musicians have covered a lot of ground on various fields of music, both as composers and soloists. The artistic and life experiences acquired individually and collectively add up to a relative quality in their music.
The six compositions – thanks to the interaction of inventions – are full of such musical turns that can surprise even the exacting listener. Musicians: László Dés (Soprano-Saxofon), Ferenc Snétberger (Acoustic Guitar), András Dés (Percussion)
