Toronto based , The Dirty Dogs play regular gigs locally at clubs and events - basically anywhere that is interested in live music. As writers and musicians, the Dogs honed their skills by listening to musical mentors that include The Beatles, U2, Tom Petty and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others.
"We started out primarily as songwriters, but began playing live because we loved the immediate feedback on our own songs and because other acts weren’t playing the songs we wanted to hear."
Recorded just around the corner from Toronto's famed El Mocambo club, the Dogs were joined in the studio throughout 2007 by some of Toronto's best talent. The result is "Unleashed" - it has been receiving a very positive response, in particular tracks such as "Day and Night", "Stone Cold Sinner" and "She Never Mentions His Name".
"As songwriters we're interested in the possibility of other artists covering our material, but we're also realistic. We have to take any reasonable route necessary to get the songs out there - if that means doing the tracks ourselves, then that’s what we have to do. We're not exactly re-inventing the wheel, but we still think it's a good ride. We invite you to give it a listen.
Thanks for everyone's continued support.
