ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
What would happen if Charles Darwin returned and visited the Earth today? That's the fascinating question posed by "I, Charles Darwin," which follows the famous British naturalist as he explores the science of the twenty-first century and reflects on what it means for his theory of evolution. This 99-minute audio adaptation with voice actors, sound effects, and music, was inspired by the short novel of the same name by historian Nickell John Romjue. The audio adaptation includes five episodes:

EPISODE 1: LONDON AND THE GALAPAGOS (14:47)
Darwin finds himself returned from the grave and begins to explore modern London, followed by a return trip to the Galapagos Islands, where he is surprised by what he learns.

EPISODE 2: THE FOSSILS AND THE TREE (20:10)
Darwin explores what we've learned about the fossil record since his time on Earth, and it's not what he expects.

EPISODE 3: BEAST TO BEAST (20:59)
Darwin is shocked to learn about the impact his theory has had on areas outside of science.

EPISODE 4: THE SECRET OF THE CELL (24:02)
Darwin learns about DNA and the other amazing discoveries of molecular biology since he developed his theory.

EPISODE 5: THE RETURN TO DOWN HOUSE (19:01)
Darwin revisits his family home and offers final reflections on his visit to the twenty-first century.
