It's the one and only Diseased Scumcrodes! With lyrics that confusingly blend the completely sick and the simply comical with a dash of social poignancy, you won't know what hit you. And the riffs are tight, simple yet effective, and they'll be in your head. Yes the old stuff sounds rough, but that's just how we like it. Because there was never anything pretty about us, and we're not about to start now. So if you can't handle it, then don't buy it. But you're going to buy it, because it's some damn catchy punk-inspired metal!
The trio from northeast Philly formed in May 1986 featuring Bill C. on bass/vocals, Rick W. on guitar/vocals and Billy P. on drums. We were metal at heart but were sickened by the compromising posers taking it over, and soon developed a real attitude problem. Within a year we had over 30 original songs and in May 1987 made the basement recording titled THE 17 SONG DEMO. Zero gigs soon followed, so we made a few studio demos. Again, no gigs, but we did manage to play at George Washington High School's annual Battle Of The Bands on November 27, 1987 before calling it quits for good. We sure went out on top, because someone told us we won! Then someone else said we came in second. Then third. Last. Whatever.
This CD is a collection of every studio recording the band ever managed to make, warts and all. Tracks 1 - 4 are from the DISEASED SCUMCRODES demo recorded 9/26/1987. Tracks 5 - 8 are from the HOPE YOUR CHRISTMAS SUCKS! demo recorded 11/15/1987. Bill and Rick reunited briefly for songs 9 & 10 for the one-off CHRISTMAS STILL SUCKS! demo on 10/28/2003. And lastly, as part of the collection of every band recording we could find, tracks 11 -15 are songs recorded exclusively for the INFECTIOUS WASTE boxed set released 3/21/2011.
So whether you just want something different, or just want to re-visit good ol' GWHS, or just want a good laugh this coming holiday season - this CD is your ticket. So buy it if you want, but we really don't care either way. - Bill C.
