ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dj Pnutz's travels on the path of musical discoveries began early on in life with her parents and their diverse record collection. This was only expanded after moving to the United States at the age of 4 and beginning dance lessons. Her teachers often commented on her natural rhythmic abilities so at the age of 10 she started percussion lessons. As the teenage years passed her musical influences only expanded beyond the realm of Art of Noise and Madonna to 1970's and 80s punk and garage. Always seeking a new sound she began to seriously study styles from all around the world and following high school was able to incorporate that knowledge into an art form when she got her first set of turntables as a graduation present. Driven by 90s electronic music, hip-hop, and trip-hop she began to develop her own sound as an artist and a DJ. While building a career as a DJ she quietly worked on music in her home studio. Often noted for the broad variety of styles that she is seamlessly able to weave into her DJ sets, she wanted her productions to be no different, transforming every song into a unique genre blending mixture of her many musical influences. Now an established female DJ presence in the underground scene she is ready to release her independent sound to the world.

"This album is my heart and soul; a lot of hard work has gone into making it. I make music based on how I am feeling that day, so when you listen to one of my tracks it's like reading a page out of my diary. I've been shy about releasing this album for so long because music is like my personal religion but I think its time now. I'm ready to let people see my true passion and what I'm really all about. This is me."
