ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
D’ has always been destined to make great contributions to music. D’s debut performance was age 14 years playing guitar in a school band at West Greenwich Boys School, SE London, entertaining the Lord Mayor of Greenwich at Greenwich Town Hall. D’s interest in musical instruments developed from the guitar to include the melodica which he later played on reggae lover’s rock tracks for Studio 16 & 17 - Joe Gibbs records, New Cross London in the late 70’s early 80’s. Age 18, D’ joined his first real band ‘Progression’ where he started off playing percussions (congos), melodica and singing backing vocals. Rehearsing at One Stop, Balham and putting on their first at show at Balham 200. Age 19 years D’ taught himself to play bass guitar and in the process formed a band with five of his brothers called ‘Blood Tribe,’...playing at summer park festivals until life’s obstacles took over and he moved on to another band called ‘Mawasi’ with his long-time friend Antony ‘Drumpton’ Ward. His route still undecided, D’ taught himself the basics of playing keyboards and began composing music and lyrics. With the introduction of technology D’ mastered the PC and has become a prolific Programmer, studio & live engineer working with top reggae producers including, Niney and Joe Gibbs (Bone Yard Studios), Ras Records, Ariwa Sounds (Mad Professor), Kyzar (Tree of Life Records), Joe Gs (Stonewall Studio), Surr Zema International. Artist including Alton Ellis, Johnny Clark, Horace Andy, Lee Perry, Vivian Jones, Bob Andy, Augustus Pablo, Junior Delgado, Devon Russell, Sly and Robbie, Earl Sixteen to name a few, plus a host of English reggae artists such as, Angela Wynters, Abacush band, Sister Audrey, Macka B, Kofi, John Maclean, Danny Red, Sydney Prince, Roger Robin, Mike Antony and many more, D’ spent a few years at Ariwa sounds sister company ‘Are we Mad’ studios, Thornton Heath working as Road Manager for the aspiring artists from the company in the mid-late 90’s. He also spent time in the studio producing original tracks for Ariwa Sounds and producing remixes, theme tracks for film, plays and TV for major record companies including Virgin, Sony, EMI. D’ has continued to serve his apprenticeship in contributing to good music working be it as a studio or live engineer or musician, with various bands and artists at Festivals, Clubs and performances in the UK and Europe . A few years ago D’ decided to follow his lifelong ambition of playing the saxophone and the rest is history. His talent was duly spotted and he was snapped up by legendary reggae artists Lee ‘Scratch Perry and Max Romeo to work on their live tours. D’ has produced a fine specimen of his abilities in an album called ‘Mystic Games’. The Album, (Instrumental with Saxophone leads) contains a contemporary blend of mostly original reggae (roots, lovers, steppers), jazz and soul tracks. ‘Mystic Games’ reflects both D’s Peaceful disposition (the Peace-maker) and the wealth of experience he has gathered on his travels throughout the musical highway. This album has something for everyone and promises to give you a ‘Peace of D’s musical mind.
