ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
On their way back to New York City after shooting a video in Rionegro Colombia, rough turbulence forced their flight to make an emergency landing in Kingston Jamaica. MAdNEZ, who had scheduled studio time in Elite Recording Studio in Manhattan, was frustrated by the delay. DyReck however, welcomed the chance to explore the topical Island and all it had to offer. After wandering around Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport they decided to venture farther west. They found themselves in Spanish Town, an area rich with culture and a mix of Spanish and British architecture. It is here that the idea for the album “Crash Down In Kingston” was born, and the song “Family” was written. Every town visited afterward (Portmore, May Pen, Mandeville) inspired more and more songs until they had enough material to write a classic album. D&M incorporated the sounds of Jamaica and the West Indies but stayed true to their Hip-Hop styles.

D&M is a mixture of DyReck and MAdNEZ two opposite M.C.s with different backgrounds, bringing two different styles to the table. They have performed all over NYC: at Open Mic Shows, Talent Shows, Colleges, and parties. Places like B.B Kings, Madison Square Garden, Le Bar Bat, Discotechque, The Pyramid, 3B Lounge, Infrared Lounge, Savanna, Karma, and many others. They also received a showcase spot at the New York International Music Festival. Their new project Crash Down In Kingston shows off their versatility as they rap over Reggae Riddims. The second song Finger In De Air shows their ability to rap over an incredibly fast pace Soca track- this is something that has never been done before in music, this merger of Raga Soca and Hip-Hop is ground-breaking.
