ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
No, it’s not doggies cutely barking “Jingle Bells” filtered through your local keyboard whiz.
What is it? It’s tribal music of and by the canine tribe, a rollicking, rude, and sometimes introspective celebration of a dog’s world in their own words. Our lead storyteller (Rocky) weaves his tales (no, not tails) over a barking, growling, howling, sneezing, ear flapping, toenail tapping, toy squeezing, collar shaking palette mixed with other dog sized “instruments” (tennis ball, bare foot in bathtub, rolling plastic bucket, rubber band banjo, antique clock chime, chain collar slides, toy Casio SK-1 sampler) in a song structure that we humans can relate to. We have to imagine the exact words (ever listen to “Louie Louie”?) but the vibe is clear, giving us a small window into the canine point of view.

strange scary funny
One of a kind. Guarantee there's nothing like it on CD baby. This CD is going to have a following, be it cult or canine.

Dog of a Different Color
Yes, it's Weird. Scary. Fun. Innovative.

Any human (or dog) who gets this a present will always remember who gave it to them.

Jay Ward is a serious musician, producer and songwriter and known by many of NYC's best in the music world. His dog, Rocky, has been present at many a recording session at his studio.

However, once they hear this, they may look at Rocky...and Jay... a bit...differently.

I agree with the review below---one of a kind. And careful when your dog hears it. It may stir up some uncomfortable feelings within him or her. Feelings that they always knew were inside, but...?!!!!

This may be one of cdbaby's most memorable cds. Whacky in it's way, but it digs alot deeper (maybe in your own backyard!!) than you think!
