Dolores J. Henry is gifted songwriter from South Texas, who began her musical career early by singing in local choirs in San Antonio, Texas. Upon moving to Arizona and retiring from a long career as a registered nurse, Mrs. Henry recently took up her roots and returned to songwriting and performing.
Inspired musically by her late-grandfather, turn-of-the-century Mexican-American composer,Cenobio Hernandez, Mrs. Henry conceives many artfully simple compositions which have the capacity to calm the mind and warm the soul. Since Henry unleashes legitimate emotion in her lyrics, which explore positive recollections about her life as a daughter, mother, care-giver, and grandmother, her abilities as a lyricist have been sought after, as she has helped to co-write lyrics for Grammy-nominated (and winning) performers.
Playing piano and singing against mildly-synthesized musical accompaniment, her beautiful voice beams through many meditative and melodic tunes.
Reminiscent of soft-voiced songstresses of the last decade, such as Astrud Gilberto, Karen Carpenter, Vickie Carr, and Claudine Longett, Mrs. Henry's sings with exceptional clarity and authentic emotion.
Great music for people of all ages!
