ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In July of 1994, in the middle of an epic thunderstorm, I hugged my Mom and left Denton, Texas for Nashville, Tennessee, chasing the illusive dream and pulling an improperly hitched and severely overloaded U-Haul trailer with a small, beat up Ford pickup named "Mercy."

I'm not making this up.

Looking back it seems fitting that I was headed to the place where rain, Momma, and trucks were sacred elements of the songwriter's canon. The unreleased demos on this disc are snapshots of my life over a ten year period in Music City. I had a ball recording these songs. I played with a lot of great musicians, ate a ton of pizza, and made some lasting, invaluable friendships along the way. I hope you enjoy the coming out party for these tunes.
