Dong-Yun Kwon had served as a bassoonist with the KBS Symphony Orchestra from 1982 to 1994 and as the principal bassoon with the Bu-San Philharmonic Orchestra from 1994 to 2001 in Korea. Ms. Kwon has produced three compact disc recordings with Sung-Eum label in Korea.
Ms. Kwon has been invited to perform as a soloist at various international music festivals including the Banff International Music Festival in Canada, the Kusatsu International Music Festival in Japan and the St. Petersburg Music Festival in Russia and Amsterdam International Festival in Holland. She has been the featured soloist with orchestras all over the world, including the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra in Russia, the Sofia Chamber Orchestra and Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria, the Port Angels Symphony Orchestra in Washington State and Western Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with many orchestras in Korea. As a recital soloist and chamber musician, she has performed all over the world. She graduated from Tae-Gu Catholic University with Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees of the bassoon performance in Korea and also received the highest performance diploma from Rotterdam Royal Conservatory in the Netherlands. Her great love is teaching and she has been the artistic teacher a lot of the University for fifteen years.
She is currently the principal bassoonist of the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra and the Bowling Green Western Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Kwon has taught at Campbellsville University since 2002. Ms. Kwon play with Heckel 7,000 series.
