ABOUT THIS ALBUM


Album Notes
A native of Eastman, Georgia Don spent his childhood years in the cotton fields of southern Georgia. A self-taught musician, he found his way to Nashville in his early twenties and jammed with the likes of Hank Cochran and Willie Nelson. Don signed with RCA and then Pamper Records (later Tree Publishing and now Sony/ATV) at the age of 26. He has sung at the Grand Ole Opry, the Rivera Hotel and Casino and has written over a hundred songs over the years to include several chart toppers such as Crippled Cowboy (Don “Tracker” McKinnon/King Rex Records), Laredo (Hank Snow/RCA), Bottom of a Mountain, (Johnny Cash, Tex Williams, Don McKinnon/Sony), Such a Short Time to Forget So Much (Carl Phillips), He Walked on the Water (Jim & Jessie), Two Room Walkup (Ernie Ashworth) and others. Don has appeared on TNN television numerous times with Steve Hall and “Shotgun Red.”
