The members of Dragonfly, Chris Anderson and Rob Stewart, started out in 1987 with a couple of Casio SK-1 samplers and have been experimenting with electronic-based music ever since. In 1997 they released the full-length album "Timestream" on Sweet Mother Records. This album is still available from Neverstop.com and Amazon.com. They have also released a handful of vinyl singles, appeared on several compilations, and produced remixes for various artists.
20XX Gauss - Dubwise represents our return from an extended hiatus which served to refocus our direction and point us back to what is important. This music is intended to fulfill a basic need to express the inexpressible. We create each cd individually, with the tools we have available to us.
20XX Gauss - Dubwise was inspired by the ancient Assyrian/Babylonian poem, "Enuma elish". It tells the story of how the forces of disorder (represented by the primeval water-gods Apsû and Tiamat) were overthrown by Ea and Marduk, creator of Earth and humanity.
20XX Gauss - Dubwise was recorded as an homage to the pioneering Jamaican record producers and sound engineers who created dub in the 1970's.
