Album Notes
" Dr. Dog is in a moment of sespended anticipation of what can only be an accomplished fate; like that instant in the movies when the timer has struck zero and everything's gone quiet but the plastics haven't yet exploded." Will Welch, The Fader

"Seems sure to attract a rabid cult following" - Kelefa Sanneh, The New York Times

to write a review

listening to it as i write this. music to live by.
toothbrush is definitely more raw than easy beat, but there is no doubt that it is still just as pure and enjoyable. its much easier to pick up dr.dog's Beatles influences in this CD with songs that you could even identify as possibly being written by John, George, or Paul. Mystery to Me and County Line stand out for me on this album and I dont expect it will be leaving my CD player any time soon. Dr.Dog stands alone in a world of musical bullshit and I send my love to them for making what they have. peace

The lo-fi recording and the three-part harmonies are fantastic
This CD is incredible. The lo-fi recordings and the 3 part harmonies make it an essential addition to your Dr. Dog repertoire.

Dr. Dog is my favorite band
This album is amazing. Dr. Dog combines the 60's pop era with freestyle blues rock on Toothbrush. I suggest you buy this album. I wish I could have rated this album higher than 5. All my friends that heard this album, fell in love with Dr. Dog. So good.

live = better
I've seen you live in Brussels... you kicked ass :-)
but it seems that the cd doesn't have the full power you CAN produce

A perfect introduction to Dr. Dog
Don't let the sound quality of Toothbrush throw you off. This is a great Cd in that it is exactly what the title on the cover tells you it is, an introduction to Dr. Dog. You are able to get a basic idea of what Dr. Dog is about musically and what they are capable of musically. If you really want to hear them progress, buy Easy Beat and We All Belong. In my opinion, We All Belong is the single greatest CD that has come out in my 22 years of life. Dr Dog is a phenomenal band and this Cd offers a glimpse into the minds of 5 musically talented people who are destined to be legends someday.

Really a great album.
This album is great. I think I might like it even better than Easy Beat. It's so raw and seems to capture the whole spectrum of human emotion. GREAT

insane, raw, every song....heaven is a great way to end the album...really good album
