Album Notes
Dread Fury is a singer/songwriter/musician who hails from Essex. Like his main influences such as Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Terence Trent D'Arby to name but a few, he plays all instruments and sings all vocals on his debut Mini-LP 'Inquests of the Heart, Tales of the Real.' Lead single, 'Not Gonna Let You Ruin My Life' - a slice of electro-acoustic sparse funk/pop - has gained him a cult following and the remaining tracks also indicate an eclectic nature with this artist. From the old school inner city blues of opening track 'Working Class Rough' to the bright, summery vibe of 'Another Step To Sunshine', Dread Fury demonstrates a huge range of emotions while the slow-burning ballad, 'Don't Be Scared of Me', is a perfect indication of the vulnerable side of man in love. The humourously titled 'I Tried It On' is saved from parody with the fact that the lyrics can actually relate to most people trying to pick up a partner whereas the chilling closer, 'When The Flames Are Put Out', allows the Mini-LP to come full circle in relation to the opening track. All in all, 'Inquests of the Heart, Tales of the Real' is a solid effort which sets up Dread Fury to move to whether his muse takes him.
