Edu is a unique and diverse singer songwriter whose philosophical and often satirical commentary on life openly elucidates his heart. The eternal optimist, EDU's music is raw and honest and uplifting, with comparisons as diverse as David Grey, Jack Johnson Dave Graney, Van Morrison, Lou Reed and JJ Cale – just to name a few. Nominated for Best Male vocalist in 2004, ABC Newcastle Music Awards.
Christian’s playing will open your mind to the versatility of the harmonica. Christian’s trademark is a particularly pure and sweet tone, which he weaves through simple melodies to create lively and complex musical arrangements. He has played every idiom, from country and blues to jazz and classical, playing with many of the top artists in the music industry. Highlights of his career include a national tour with the hit stage musical "Big River", three national "Gold Harmonica” awards, two of his own CD's and performing as a guest artist on twenty more. He has distilled his unique sound from this wide experience.
Dr Goodvibe have recorded two albums and have another on the boil.
Their debut album in 2000 was self titled, (see review http://www.whatson-centralcoast.com.au/doctor-goodvibe.html) and their second album “SHE” is an even more eclectic mix of songs including two sensational instrumentals from Christian. Both albums are available at their shows or visit their website
We are all excited about the new album - more of a combined effort - which was launched at Lizottes on the Central Coast to a full house and rave reviews in May 2006. It is receiving airplay on JJJ’s Roots and All and also is regularly aired on ABC Central Coast 92.5 and ABC Newcastle 1233
We chose to shoot a video of the song ‘The Nun in the Backseat’ because of its natural, easily told storyline and we chose to shoot it in Dungog NSW - because it’s a great, scenic, quirky, Aussie outback town! Check it out! It’s on the CD “SHE” (open in Quicktime), or of you like to stay up late you might catch it on RAGE… others have!
