by Drought

Drought's sound is emo-metal if there is such a term. Brian link's haunting voice soars over the tracks which meander from melodic moments to metallic surges.

Album Notes
Drought is a four piece metal combo headed up by Brian Link. As musical as Tool or a Perfect Circle, the band finds a unique sound in their arrangments which move from softer moments to loud crescendos in the blink of an eye. At the center of Memphis'music scene, the band has distinguished themselves as one of the more progressive rock bands in the city. If you like Chevelle, Faith No More, or Tool, you'll like Drought.

The CD is a great CD... I wish there were more lyrics but the $11 I spent was well worth it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ALBUM!

Great CD guys! Awesome stuff.
I think the guitar playing in this CD are excellent. Great Job!

Blue Velvet song
I am wondering, are you the band that did a song for the movie Blue Velvet that had the lyrics "don't you fucking look at me" I am looking for that song

Lars Selruchson

This band's intensity draws you in like a good movie.
I am an old hard-core junky- listened to the melvins, the mekons, Cop Out, Taint Skins, etc. In my older age, I have gotten more into metalcore that boasts more musicality and more dynamic range, bands like Meshugga(sp?), Tool, Aenemia, and even some of the poppy stuff that I am afraid to mention. At any rate, this band is the perfect fusion of all that I love in Metal and in music. The singer's voice is haunting and weaves well with the guitar melodies. They are from Memphis, TN. I live just outside there and heard about them from friends. They play under a different name and have a new drummer. They are now called "On a Dead Machine." When they hit big, you heard it here first folks.

Above review says it best.

$11.00 !?
Cool tunes.
If the CD was a half the price, I would buy it.
Why only 6 songs?

Great disc!
Whatever happened to this band? Their CD is great - I can't find very much information apart from this CDbaby page, and they deserve more recognition imho!

Very catchy CD. The production is very crisp and clear too.
