"When you blend vocal chords, piano strings, and two musical masters, a "sympathetic resonance" of high-level musical sensibility is born. Jane Duboc and Jeff Gardner spin threads of magic throughout this CD, with all new songs sung by Jane, sensitive and marvelous as always."
"Jeff's playing is incredibly supportive of Jane's singing - it compliments her sound so well - they make a great duo. I can hear all the love and care that went into the crafting of the songs and the recording."
Luciana Souza, singer
"Home is a River" is the conversion of the beautiful warm voice and interpretation of Jane Duboc with the ever lush and sensitive piano playing of Jeff Gardner. The album is a wonderful close experience of two music worlds."

This voice and piano duo CD was born from the meeting of two musicians from different backgrounds who nevertheless share many musical references. Together they produce music of rare beauty. Jeff's compositions use rhythms such as bossa nova, bolero, candomblé, latin jazz, pop and gospel. The lyrics, in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, were also penned by Jeff, with co-lyricists Simone Guimarães, Marcia Kern, and Jane on a few songs. Recorded on a magnificent Steinway piano at Studio Araras and mixed and mastered at the legendary VISOM Studio in Rio, the sound of the CD is warm and enveloping, perfect for meditation or romance! On the title tune, Jane shows her deep knowledge of Gospel Music, with a "one woman" choir that evokes the music of the black churches of the USA.
Other highlights are the romantic "Noite Bolero", on which Jane takes an inspired vocal solo, the spellbinding wordless vocal on "Contemplation", and "Chorões", a tribute to the masters of choro in a nostalgic nod to Rio de Janeiro in the 1920's and 1930's. "Agua de Luna", with Spanish lyrics by Jeff, adds a touch of Latin American popular song. "Home is a River" is CD brimming with subtle jazz inflected harmonies, beautiful melodies, and constant dialogue between piano and voice.
