Album Notes
Echelon, a Chicago-based music duo composed of Ricci Lacour and Sean Foran, emanates ethereal sound inspired by the earnestness of the heart, the essence of the soul, and the mysteries of the subconscious. Echelon introduces a new brand of pop music, transcending the status quo and inviting a new generation into pop culture’supper echelon.Sean, age 22, writes, produces, engineers, and performs all instrumentation for Echelon. Sean began playing guitar at age 6, and soon after, he was writing and recording music on a 4-track tape machine, creating everything from 60s-era pop to 90s-era hip hop. Sean always has and always will be influenced by all types of music from any moment in time as he consistently bends genres for the ultimate sonic experience for all crowds.Ricci, age 20, sings and writes for Echelon. Ricci Lacour has seen a lot in her mere 5 years as a vocalist. Since her professional start in 2006, Ricci has done promotions spanning from radio interviews, sold-out concerts, and several headlining newspaper articles. At age 16, she became one of the youngest vocalists to win a Madison Area Music Award. After winning a statewide battle of the bands competition with perfect vocal marks, Susan Masino, a renowned music journalist, deemed Ricci as a ‘superstar in the making’. Soon after parting ways with her previous band, Ricci spent a short time in Atlanta recording with Chris Smith from the smash-hit rap duo, Kriss Kross. Taking her talents to the next level with Echelon, her vocals and thought-provoking lyrics are sure to leave audiences mystified.Together, Ricci and Sean mastermind the production of their unique electro pop and soul-felt music. After an accidental meeting through a mutual friend, Sean and Ricci started their musical journey together. Their initial creations began as a solo project for lead singer Ricci Lacour. However, it didn’t take long to realize the enormous potential they had as a production and songwriting team. In March of 2009, Sean and Ricci decided to create what is now known as Echelon. After two and a half years of musical exploration, name changes, and paying dues, Echelon has become a musical force to be reckoned with.Ricci and Sean give life to a vast array of musical experiences. From the heart-stirring “At a Distance” to the heart-pumping “Tri3polar” to the heart-stopping “Away From You,” Echelon provides a different emotional ride in every song. With each new Echelon song, you never can predict what you’re going to get…but you know it’s going to be good.
