The Echoing Green has established themselves as one of the top American synthpop bands of the last decade, with a long string of albums and extensive touring that has won a large fanbase. "The Winter of Our Discontent" is considered by the band to be a landmark album, blending together all the different styles and structures of synthpop that the band has played through the years. Producer and head-man Joey Belville puts together one of the most emotional and diverse albums you'll hear from The Echoing Green. From clubby futurepop to emotional ballads to catchy pop tunes to melancholy darkwave, it's all here!

Steve B

a dark, beautiful, brilliant album
For many years, The Echoing Green has put out some of the finest, brightest, and danceable synth driven songs out there. With Winter, the band has stepped of in a slightly different direction. Still synth driven--almost exclusively, the band ventures to darker and moodier territories. If the band had an album you could label as dark or goth, this would be it. It's all about the mood and chilling sounds which appropriately match the album's Winter title. The stand-out track is the absolutely brilliant Story of Our Lives. It is The Echoing Green at its finest and once of the greatest songs I've ever heard. The album however, doesn't fade there, it continues with brilliant track after brilliant track, never falling short of excellence. Perhaps not the best introduction to the band's overall catalog, but truly a cumulation of of all their talents and experiences from past work, which makes this their finest moment to date.

I love my Synth............

Awsome, everything from EG is Great! Buy it!

Still my fave...
The album is a must have for any synth pop lover. Perfect combination of lyrics and melodies. Very powerful. I always return to this one...
"Heidi's Song"
I can see my destiny
in your russet eyes
and I can hear a symphony
in your autumn sighs
and I can sing you a song
that'll make you cry yet smile inside
and we can hold on to each other's hearts
til we die
and angels close our eyes
