Eduardo Osorio is one of those human beings that, with just one glimpse, exudes joy. Today, he presents his most recent production - EN EXCLUSIVA - and with it, he not only shares his dreams, but he is handing us his heart on a silver platter.
Eduardo was born in Venezuela, of Colombian parents. Thanks to this, Eduardo was greatly influenced by these two wonderful cultures, that even though they share a frontier, each is clearly unique. Since he was a little boy, Eduardo had a special relationship with music. As a teenager, he was part of the super popular group Barranco, where he learned not only the insides and outs of the music industry, but also the importance of following your dreams and believing in yourself.
After leaving Barranco (much to everyone's despair), Eduardo took some time off to rethink his life and find his purpose. During this time, Warner Chapell Music Publishing invited him to become part of their team as a songwriter. This was a great step for Eduardo, but it also meant leaving the safety of his native country as he ventured into an unknown land. Yet, without hesitation, he packed his bags, guitar, and family and took the leap.
Many, including Mexico's Sentidos Opuestos and Venezuela's René y Reny, recorded his songs. Yet, even though his career as a songwriter seemed to be taking off with hit records overseas, Eduardo had a family to maintain, and he was forced to take on a job at the local liquor store. Without knowing it, this step, as hard as it was, would prove fateful in the long run.
In 2002, Eduardo signed with Universal Music Publishing, a step that helped him even more in his development as a bona fide songwriter. During a "Songwriters' Camp" organized by his new company, he met Alejandro Lerner. This meeting marked another important step in his career after Lerner invited him to co-write with him a few songs. Two magical compositions were created during this meeting: "Mira Hacia tu Alrededor" - which became Lerner's second single off of his platinum selling album "Buen Viaje" - and "Aviso Clasificado", which was recorded by Luciano Pereyra and is included as one of the tracks in Eduardo's debut album.
As fate would have it, his "break" as an artist came through the door of the liquor store when one of the customers sparked up a conversation with him, it turned out she worked at a local indie label called Respek Records. Eduardo invited Mark Eman to hear him perform at a local club and in a few a days signed a deal with Respek.
Today, Eduardo's hard work is paying off; his first single "Extra! Extra!" is reaching top spots in some of the most important charts and his video has been in high rotation in some of the most important TV stations in the country. All that is left to do, is for the world to meet and fall in love with Eduardo through his music.
