Album Notes
It was Christmas, 2006. Ed was playing a Christmas party for a company. The pianist completed a spirited solo. It was time for Ed to play. There was silence. And more silence. Ed commanded his fingers to play, but they would not respond. Alarmed, Ed called his doctor who sent him to the Emergency Room. There, along with family and friends, Ed was diagnosed with a brain tumor and advised that he would need emergency brain surgery. Flashes of death and despair overcame Ed. What would become of his family? Was life over as he knew it? Why would God allow such a thing to occur? Ed spent the night praying and reading Samuel 1 and 2. The spirit of God welled up in Ed as he read 1 Sam. 17 ........“and David hasted.” A turning point. Renewed strength. Purpose. Ed underwent the surgery with a new-found confidence in God. Ed's first words after opening his eyes from surgery, to the amazement of his family, were: “who is this uncircumsized Philistine that he should defy the armies of the God of Israel.” Upon release from the hospital, Ed went home, went into his music room, closed the door and immediately began writing this album. Ed called upon a cadre of his closest musical friends and mentors over the next two years to bring this music to life.
This is not a feel good story to promote records. If you are reading this, this is a very real message to you, birthed before you even entered the present storm in your life, to minister to you. Buy this record and listen to what God says to you in your heart.
