Elain was born in San Antonio de los Baños, La Habana, Cuba. Since he was a child he knew he had born to be an artist, and at the young age of six he taught himself to play the guitar.
He first started to sing when he was 7 years old and became part of a Latin American musical group. In his teen years he joined the Orquesta Sello L.A (formed by Los Papines sons), which interpreted a danceable rhythm called “Timba”. With Sello L.A recorded his first album titled “Tranquilo y Sin Lio” (Quiet without fuss) where he interpreted songs like “Tasca Tasca” (with The Papines) and “Tranquilo y Sin Lio” promotional song of the album. After two years with Sello L.A he entered as a main vocalist to Panchito Alonso’s Band and his Kini Kini. With Panchito recorded the album “Traigo Te Traigo”, where he interpreted the song with the same name, composed by Juan Formell and promotional song, “El Chequendeque” and “La Guinaita” among others. Just to mentioned some of the hits he recorded with this band.
After touring throughout the United States, with Panchito Alonso’s Band and his Kini Kini, in the year 2000, Elain decided to go solo.
In 2005 decided to develop his abilities as a songwriter and began producing and writing for other artists. Later, in 2008 he launched his first solo album “ELAIN” that included 10 songs, with a mix of songs from collaborators as well as a selection of his own works. Rhythmically “ELAIN” infused a rich mix of jazz, son montuno, bossanova, flamenco in astoundingly fresh arrangements.
In 2010 he launched his second album “El Disfraz de la Luz” (The Guise of Light), Inspired by the universal yearning for understanding and acceptance from one’s beloved, Elain’s musings are exquisitely composed. Haunting and mesmerizing lyrics, coupled with distinctive story telling are punctuated with rhythmic inflections and accents from around the world.
Elain, poised to become an internationally recognized singer/songwriter. For “El Disfraz de la Luz”, he wrote and composed 14 original songs along with his cadre of highly distinguished collaborators including Jorge Luis Piloto, Pepe Horta , Yoel Henriquez and El Chino Dreadlion among others. Also, the internationally acclaimed artist, Arturo Sandoval makes a special guest appearance in “Carmen,” a song dedicated to Elain’s mother.
He continues to evolve as an artist standing out as one of the most relevant singers and songwriters in the Latin market, and as a songwriter, several well-known artists are already selecting his songs.
Currently Elain is working with the Latin Music Superstar Johnny Ventura on different projects such as writing together for a new production for Ventura.
