Wish You Love
Elainor Knight’s EP Wish You Love, is an intriguing mix of jazz, electronica and pop.
The songs run the full gamut of emotions. They manifest brightness, darkness, lightness and heaviness.
There are happy times as well as sad and mystery is always present.
Ms Knight has a warm, sensuous voice with an incredible range.
Wish You Love, the title track has an up tempo backing and Ms Knight’s double tracked voice seems to flow over the arrangement.
Quiet Time, has a nice easy jazz rhythm and Ms Knight’s warm, soothing tones makes you want to get away from the madding crowd with that someone special.
By contrast, Got Me Good is very sassy with a very catchy guitar hook. You will want to play it several times so you can whistle the melody. It evokes memories of those classic straight-on jazz tunes.
I Dream Of You, is a haunting song and Ms Knight’s voice seems to be part of the ethereal arrangement rather than separate to it. As with other tunes the spoken lyric becomes an integral part of the song.
Think Again, is British pop at its best. There is an unrelenting nightclub beat and empowering message in the melody.
