ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
ELDER ROCHE
Single “Diamond” on iTunes April 24th
Taken from his forthcoming album NOBODY KNOWS..... .. ..
Experimenting with music from the early age of eleven, this
Dublin based musical poet has shared the stage with many of
Ireland’s well known’s: Paddy Casey, Damien Rice, Juno Falls, Juliette Turner and Damien Dempsey. He is no stranger to the press or radio, having The News of The World declare that his “manly vocals and powerful storytelling songs bring to mind the genius of Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond.” RTE 2FM claims that there is “something spiritual about ELDER’s songs” and PHANTOM FM describe him as “truly talented and
stunning”.

The past few years have seen ELDER grow and establish himself as an entertaining and riveting performer- not to mention a solemn musician who remains true to the very elements that preserves the original with the new. He was authenticated the old fashioned way, by paying his dues and touring the world over, playing in venues across the world (America and Europe) and indeed in Ireland such as The Lobby in Cork and The Glebe Amphitheatre in West Cork to the humble surroundings of his home town of Dublin in Whelan's, The Sugar Club and Lillie's Bordello to name a handful. He is now set to release his Single DIAMOND taken from his debut NOBODY KNOWS. Embracing the grittier side of life and paving the way with slapping grooves and roots overtones. Elder’s theatrical story telling has likened him to Tom Waits, Nick Cave and David Bowie. (Who can argue with them comparisons). His upcoming single is set in a similar tone of the more recent highly acclaimed song Grounds for Divorce by ELBOW, in that DIAMOND, contains catchy progressions and is every bit the way to go in etching his own space within the songs that fuse the current music scene. It is said that those born under the Elder sign are able to live and prosper under any conditions. The year ahead for ELDER ROCHE will see this talented songwriter receive the acclaim this album simply demands.

Elder's album is a treat for the ears and soul for the tonic. Superb!

Envoutant
Elder's music has turned my sitting room into a cosy hidden piano bar with husky smokey sounds, taking me through some intense but pleasurable journeys. I resisted this music at first like a darker shadow in the room but it lured me in anyway. I love the depth of his voice, rich in texture, music is very versitile and well put together. This album is a true little pleasure treasure !

Recommended to me since I like Tom Waits.
Great Stuff. Track 1 got me hooked, tracks 2-12 had me sold. Good match for Tom Waits coming from CD Baby's unique searching ability.

From the pen of Elder comes songwriting gold!
This Album is a fantastic collection of atmospheric and gritty songs brought to life
with a casual style that cannot fail to penetrate. Storytelling at it's very best but
with a truth that leaves you searching and questioning everyday life.
There is absolutely everything here with a mix of influence and style that blends
effortlessly into itself.
Elder is a modern-day soothsayer. This dark atmosphere and heart-wrenching soundscape
grips you tight and demands that you listen to the very end. If you don't you will
never know how close you came to enlightenment. Those that do will be left holding a
particular treasure that comes along every 20 or 30 years. Think Cohen, think Bowie, think
Lennon. This man is a master songwriter and deserves a place among the greats.
OUTSTANDING!!

Superb Lyrics and Arrangements
I heard Elders music on his myspace site and blown away by the depth and versatility of the music. I didn't expect the album to improve on that. It is a wonderful display of honest emotional and quirky songs that keep you enraptured through all 12 tracks. Defintely worth the buy!

This Will Awaken You
What a spectacular album and great, great artist. There is not one bad song on here. The melodies remind me of songs I listened to in cafes in Krakow, melodic, heart-felt and haunting. Something about Elder's voice and tone touches the very core of me. From one poet to another the lyrics are a masterpiece and inspired me on a different level everytime. This is an album I will treasure forever and I hope and look forward to more beautiful melodies.
