ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Reno may not yet be known for its Hip Hop successes, but hiding in the shadows waiting for their chance to blow up the scene is Element. Oddly, if Element has been hiding... it's been in plain sight. Well known for their years on the road with Hip Hop legends Digital Underground, Element has been around the world. They built a large following in Australia and a growing base at home in the United States.

Their first album, ElementMusick.com, was a huge underground success, and the group sold thousands at shows large and small. Building on that success and continuing to innovate, their sophomore release, Variety Pak, is in stores now. With ultra-futuristic beats and unmatched floetry, Element is making it do what it do.

Brad at CD Baby

Underground hip hop is a sometimes thankless game, with tendencies to chew up the meek, spit them out, and leave them for dead if they aren't prepared for battle, constantly bringing the new. Element is a group that's weathered some storms, paid their dues, and amassed a well-deserved hardcore following for their efforts. But the hip hop heads are a fickle bunch, and they demand constant reassurance of a group's staying power. With their new release, the group will no doubt silence these clamoring fiends, giving 'em what they're asking for and then some. The 16 songs here span an hour (no skits, you hooligans), featuring tracks packed to the gills with densely layered beats, precision-obsessed lyrical barbs, and grooves and hooks with plans to set up shop in your brain stem. So make room, because these aren't songs that some aspiring jokers slapped together in a weekend. These are well-crafted musical endeavors that will rightfully put some demand on your mind, your ears, and your neck. Yep, your head'll be moving.
