Patricia Elena Vlieg, vocalist, composer, and arranger, is also a skilled keyboard and guitar player. Her work combines rhythms and styles rooted in various Latin American traditions with elements of jazz and other genres.

She began her musical education in Panama, her native country, and continued her studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree specializing in arrangement and vocal performance. She also took private voice lessons at the New England Conservatory in Boston.

In 1991, Patricia Elena launches her first recording of Christmas songs, “Esta Noche Ha Nacido Una Estrella”. In 1996, together with her sister Ana Lucía, she presents her first CD, “Viviendo En Mi Sonrisa”. In 2003, Patricia Elena and Ana Lucía record “Tus Promesas”, a richly produced album with original arrangements and compositions that constitute a journey in the footsteps of Jesus. In 2005, Patricia Elena presents Origen, her most recent recording, a fusion of Latin American rhythms with Jazz elements in a tribute to her musical and cultural identity. Here, she is again featured as a performer, arranger and composer. The album has received favorable reviews by renowned artists such as the Panamanian singer, composer and Grammy winner Rubén Blades who recommends it as listening material.
