by Elev8tor

Chicago's luscious blend of trip-hop, acid jazz, and disco house finds its beginnings in a studio collab with singer Darcy Markham. Raw, vinyl-esque drum breaks and layers of Rhodes and B3 organ meet the brick and stone soul of ChiTown.

Album Notes
Elev8tor combines stylistic elements of downtempo, chicago soul, and house music in a simmering live/electronic hotbed. 70s vinyl break inspired drums, funky rhythm guitar, and gritty vintage keyboards meet new-era production. The foundation of the group consists of keyboardist/producer Kevin Ford (CAbP, Revolutionary Music), drummer Sam Sharp (J Davis Trio), guitarist Bryan Ford (B. Ford & Goulet, Revolutionary Music), and bassist Olin Langley (of Marvin Tate fame). This debut album release is the result of a studio collaboration with singer Darcy Markham. Born of the Chicago underground party scene, the group has performed at eccentric events and clubs since 2010. It's a raw glimpse into the deeper world of Chicago's urban experiment.
