Eli Yamin Blues Band is a unique ensemble of voice, piano, tuba and drums. Led by the joyful and creative piano of pianist/composer Eli Yamin and sanctified by the powerful vocals of Grammy Nominated Kate McGarry, deeply rooted in the African American Spiritual tradition. The bass of the band is Bob Stewart, a modern tuba pioneer who, is the grandson of a Harlem preacher and has played with everyone from Charles Mingus to Taj Mahal. LaFrae Sci, a fixture on the New York blues and jazz scene, serves up a mean shuffle and back beat on the drums and displays great taste and sensitivity when the different moods of the blues calls for.

It is a song about transforming your sadness into strength through the power of your breath and your community.
