Ellen tepper, harpist and independent scholar, brings to life 500 years of harp music. Combining humor with ahrp history and anecdotes on the origin of the music, her performance is at once and intellectual pursuit and a stimulating musical experience.
Ellen was born in New York but spent much of her childhood in Vienna, Austria where she began to study classical harp at the age of eight. She graduated from Philadelphia College of Performing Arts with a degree in Harp Performance.
A highly versatile performer, she has developed extensive repertoire on a variety of historical harps as well as the modern pedal harp and the neo-Celtic harp.
Ellen has previously produced three recordings: Timeless Music for the Celtic Harp, Celtic Refractions and Waltzes with harps. This newest offering: Winter Cycles: Christmas on Celtic harp features 18 carols for the season, traditional favorites, played in classical style on the Celtic harp.
