This single was inspired by Paul Brandt's remake of Jeremy Harding's Thunder riddim. When Paul sent me the instrumental, I immediately fell in love with it. At first i did not have any idea as to what I would sing about on this track. While listening to the riddim constantly, the words began to come to me. I realized that the topic i arrived at was somewhat controversial on two spectrum. The song was about smoking marijuana. Today (2011), the use of the "weed" is widely prohibited and secondly I don't smoke "ganja", yet I found that I was about to complete a song that promotes smoking the forbidden "purple". Being that my belief about the marijuana is similar to that of the use of alcohol (it should be used and shared responsibly), I decided that I would record the song for those out there who enjoy and use marijuana for social and medical reasons. While writing and also while recording this song, my thought kept returning to friend who was fighting cancer and the many who suffer from illnesses for which the "weed" could help to ease their pain. I applaud the states/cities that allow the use of marijuana to help some patients . According to Joycelyn Elders, MD,Former US Surgeon General "The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS -- or by the harsh drugs sometimes used to treat them. And it can do so with remarkable safety. Indeed, marijuana is less toxic than many of the drugs that physicians prescribe every day."(Editorial, Providence Journal Mar. 26, 2004)
On October 12, 2011, the vocals were recorded at Insight Recording Studio in Manchester, NH. USA. The Engineer for the session was Jerel "Proff" Norris. Later the track was then sent to Paul Brandt in Albstadt, Germany to arrange for a final mix and master. Together we are very proud to be able to share our work with you.
Thank you for all the love and continued support.
